He's just an odd bloke. He's already shown that he can get us playing attractive, attacking football which wielded results, yet he prefers to revert back to his gutless, defensive shell, which has achieved precisely fuck all at all of the clubs he's managed since Everton.
In short, he's his own worst enemy.

optomist/positive manager- starts with his strongest side, dictate the game - bring on replacements when/off needed to hold the game
pessimist/negative manager - starts with a weaker side that seeks to nullify the opposition, using a format that neither you the players or the fans have seen before , and try an score a breakaway and then put the big guns on at the end to finish the game off
I give you David Moyes, in a nutshell

Take points when they are there. The only time I can recall leaving out players for another day working was when the Premier league forced us to play Portsmouth on the Saturday before the Monday FA Cup quarter final at Man City.
Every other time you throw away points and never make them up in the subsequent games. Can remember Zola throwing games to save for a home game v Wolves. Which we got smashed in. Was the turning point where everyone else finally realised he was an incompetent grinning Chelsea chimp totally unsuited to management.

Sell Diop, sell Haller, sell/release Snodgrass, recall Anderson (then sell him for any price) and loan out Martin.
Use the £10m or so raised (plus the rest of the Diangana money) to try and get Ivan Toney upfront and Dean Henderson on loan.

Moyes 'Achilles heel' is having several overpaid, expensive signings from Pellegrini's time and trying to make the best out of them until he can get rid.
A draw at Southampton with an imitation striker and a winger that is there for his running ability rather than skill is a fair result for us with what we have.
Funny that Craig Dawson got MOM on his debut when all the experts of WHO said he was a shit signing at the time...

We should have got at least four points from playing Palace and Brighton and there was enough fit playing resources to enable Moyes to go for it. We seem to have had a bad deal though insofar as three games being compressed into six days has made Moyes careful with squad selection.
For me, after the way we’ve performed, last night was a point I did not expect. What are the chances of a clean sheet at Goodson?

Thw way I look at it is if we put our best team out against Brighton we get the 3 points, then we have 2 games where we can go and be aggressive.
So we get one lucky point against Brighton, one deserved point against Southampton, so if we get a point against Everton that's 3 points from those three games which really isn't great. Odds are we lose to Everton who will be fresh and that's 2 points.
Play your best team in the next game not three games ahead.
Oz hammer I was also there in those days, you're a cunt if you're happy with us lacking ambition

The game was ok, we contained them and then Moyes released the talent in an attempt to win all 3 points
Moyes Achilles heel is going for games from the start, a front four which includes Antonio, Benny, Bowen & Lanzini will win more points than lose them but his safety first attitude inhibits that
He has also been held back by the inadequacies with the depth in the squad and we all know whose to blame for that
Still so far so good a win at Everton would cap of a good year for the manager

Looked decent with the subs on and rested a few players, Dawson looked ok need to see him a few more times to see if he replaces the general with Coufal back (Fredericks is not at his level) and Haller not playing (hes had his chance now) Lanzini & Yarma as attacking subs think we look good just need somehow to offload Haller and bring in a new striker

Hammer oz. I remember those days.
Doesn't mean I can't criticise what I see as bizarre tram selections and tactics
I can't fathom why we've stopped crossing the ball from free kicks and corners.(especially against brighton)
And I will not apologise for cunting haller. He is a fraud if a footballer and his attitude disgusts me.
I'd love to see his stats for last few game regarding headers lost/won and possession lost. It is fucking comical.

We lacked quality and penetration, but not effort. That's the silver lining because in the past when our heads have dropped we also have stopped running and thinking straight. When Antonio came on, suddenly we had a player up front who could control the ball and help build an attack. I fear that he will try too hard and injure himself again, otherwise I'm fairly optimistic that we can recover a bit of confidence and flair. Haller out and someone to come in who can shoot with both feet is my New Years wish.

Benrahma did make things happen when he came on, he's still getting used to the premier league and I think that's why Moyes is introducing him slowly.

Benrahma completely transforms our attack. The front 4 of him, Fornals, Bowen and Antonio would be very dangerous

Eventually, they were.
We got to grips with them after a poor start, and they ended up looking completely clueless by the second half.
We were better for excluding Noble, and dropping Bowen to the bench. It’s depressing having to suffer the awful Haller floundering around, thanks to GSB and Moyesinho failing to be able to count how many strikers we had on the books.

Darby, Your obviously new on here as common sense and intelligence are not acceptable on this site. I could not agree with you more. Look forward to more of your posts. Just regarding Dawson well one Swallow if you know what I mean but, after a nervy start he did very well.
Can Diop be on his way?? I sincerely hope not.
